Exergy Analysis
In the built environment, exergy analysis is used to optimize the energy efficiency of the building based on the Low Exergy approach by comparing the quality levels of exergy supply and demand so to optimize the utilization of high-value energy and reduce the dissipation of low-value energy into the environment.

Exergy analysis can be applied to solar PV, thermal solar or biomass in order to use energy more efficiently. As an example, the exergy analysis can be applied to choose the best use of roof space for solar energy technologies (PV or thermal solar). Additionally, exergy analysis is vastly used for energy-intensive industrial processes in order to evaluate the real efficiency of the process.
